About Ally

The Girl

My name is Ally V. I have lived on this earth since 2000. I'm home-schooled, and I'm in the eighth grade. I have three older siblings, so I'm the tail end, watching and learning. I am living in a warm, inviting house that lies in Louisiana, and I never want to leave it. If I ever have to move, I will take my home town and everything in it with me. I have practically been raised by my second mother, my oldest sister, Casey. She has taught me lots of useful things, from knitting and photography tips, to making collages and baking secrets. She learned from my amazing mother who has (actually) raised me through shoulders to cry on, and arms to welcome a hug. My parents have taught me everything I need to know so far, but it's not from their knowledge, it's from God. I am a devoted Christian; I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save everyone in the world, and that He rose from the dead, and conquered death, and I love God with all of my heart, mind, soul and strength. My parents have an unconditional love for each other and their children, and they worship and love God more than anything. They have taught me the best way I can think of, and it's the same way I want to teach my kiddos one day.

The Chef

Cooking is my passion. It gives me the ability to let my creativity explode without having a paintbrush in my hand. I love cooking and baking alike, and I love even more where all of these recipes came from. Each family recipe is a memory. Whenever I make a recipe my mom has shown me about a hundred times, a million memories come flooding back. I will pass every single recipe on down to my kids, and I hope they will do the same with their children. I want to teach my kiddos to clean up after they cook. I want to teach them to wait for bubbles on top of the pancake batter before flipping it. I want to teach them how to make a roux. I want to give them a history lesson about where the recipe came from as we're cooking. I want them to put flour on their noses for no reason, just to take a picture. I want to listen to their favorite music as we're juking and twirling on the kitchen floor. I want them to know how to knead bread dough. I want to tell them to wash their hands before handling any food until they are seventeen years old and tell me that they remembered before I had to tell them. I want them to laugh about kitchen accidents. I want them to love food. I want them to love their parents. I want them to love God. I want them to love.
